Andrew Nickel Memorial Weekend and Endurance Race
Important Updates: Cash Prizes for Podium Finishes – Thunder Bike Requirement Removed!
Update # 1
Thunder Bike Requirement Removed
The MRA Executive has revised the team bike requirements and format to enable riders to enter and participate using all classes of bikes on a team.
We have amended the rules that would allow riders / teams to race any category of bike and have removed the previous Thunder Bike mandatory requirement.
The MRA Executive has created a handicap scoring system that creates a level field for all race teams and competitor regardless of bike displacement.
Teams that do not enter a Thunder class bike will have laps deducted from their final overall total to compensate.
This means that both two and three rider teams are now open to compete with any class of bike of their choice. Teams that want to race 2 or 3 Thunder Class bikes are welcomed.
Example – A two rider team can compete with two Supersport or two Superbikes, or a mix of both. No Thunder Class bike would be required.
This revision should enable all racers to participate in the event.
We will be sending out an updated endurance race rule document separately.
Update # 2
Cash Prizes and Awards
Thanks to the generosity of Andrews’s wife, Annette, we will be offering cash prizes for ALL competitors that finish on the podium.
Endurance Race Cash Awards:
1st Place Team - $150.00 for each team rider
2nd Place Team - $100.00 for each team rider
3rd Place Team - $75.00 for each team rider
In addition to the cash awards detailed above, Annette has graciously provided additional prizes that will be available and allocated to lucky racers and riders throughout the course of the day on Saturday.
