Hello fellow racers and track day enthusiasts,
The executive met recently and has reviewed our current and future financial position. Starting this upcoming season, refunds on track/race fees will no longer be provided.
Most of the expenses to run an event weekend are fixed. With cancellations and refunds given to our members, the expenses must still be paid, leaving what little savings the club has to take the burden. This new policy is in line with any other track day/race organisation we've ever come across. Our club has been unique in the way refunds have been provided. In more prosperous years in the past, we could sustain the losses. In the current environment, this is no longer the case.
The club is in a position where we are seeing a financial loss each year. This isn't a decision to make money, it's one to ensure the future of our club for years to come. Leaving the cost structure as-is will result in the club being unable to run events within a couple of years.
Conditions for signup:
CANCELLATIONS - Cancellations received 5 Days or more before event: Full credit toward future event. Cancellation received less than 5 days of event, during event, or after event: No refund or credit given. We do not give refunds due to mechanical failures/problems with your motorcycle, or inclement weather. The MRA rides rain or shine.
WEATHER CONDITIONS - MRA events normally operate regardless of weather. If the event operates and you decide NOT to participate due to weather conditions, DO NOT expect us to refund or credit your track fees. If weather conditions are so severe that the track management decides to shut down the event, we will issue either full or partial credits back to any paid participants in the event.
CRASHING - Ride smart! It's NOT our fault if you crash! DO NOT expect us to refund or credit your track fees. If you are signed up for a 2-day event and you crash on the first day and are unable to ride on the 2nd day, you will NOT receive a refund or credit.
Sincerely,
MRA Executive
